E-100 Krokodil - Heer46 - E100JK

Hello everyone!

So I spent most of my day today teaching a friend of mine how to paint with an airbrush, since he had just purchased one. So I thought I'd might as well just start painting my awesome Krokodil from Heer46.

This kit is simply awesome, the cast is beautiful and everything just looks great and fits together perfectly. I sadly just noticed I have forgotten to remove some flash from the front headlight....which is quite annoying, but will probably fix during my next painting session.

Painting

So basically same procedure as last time. Primer first, then the Dunkelgelb, varnish, mask, paint camo, varnish. Then I masked of some parts to spice up the model a bit more and painted them brown/rusty'ish, then the last layer of varnish of the day.  

I feel like the modulation could have needed a few more highlights, both the dunkelgelb and the green camo. Ah well this was done rather quickly while talking with my mate and showing him stuff.

Day 1 result

The result after a days work. As mentioned earlier the headlight still has some left over resin attached to it....which I know I can't live with and have to fix at some point..... 

The modulation could have been more interesting, a few more highlights wouldn't have hurt it, otherwise very happy with my progress.

Well that's it for now! hopefully I will get some more work done tomorrow unless I decide to paint on my Deathstroke instead :)

Panther Ausf. F - Forged In Battle - P-54 - Finished

Hello everyone!

*Let me just start by saying this post is going to be fairly picture heavy! consider yourself warned ;-)*

So..I have finally manage to get these 3 tanks finished and damnit if I don't think they are the best I've done so far, it's going to hard to for me to do better than this.

Let's get the boring stuff out of the way before I unleash the pictures.

Conclussion

The overall quality of these tanks was outstanding, price was fair and shipping times was exellent. If you haven't already you should go check out ForgedInBattle they have an exelent range of tanks, infantry, cannons and even some rather silly items (Yes you can get Ratte in 15mm (gief))

The tanks are in very few pieces even compared to Battlefronts resin kits and honestly (even though the sculpt was superb) I wouldn't have minded having the tracks seperate and I could have done without the bases (Going to look out of place with the rest of my figures). But to be honest these are very minor things, the tracks was easy to mask when painting and the base was actually quite handy when working on the tanks :-p

Anyway this is definitely not the last time I purchase from Forged In Battle, might even try some infantry at some point (I remember having read somewhere they are very nice). I would recommend this company to everyone if you wan't something a little different than Battlefronts tanks :)

Picture time

Lets start with a platoon picture and move onto the single tank shots shall we?

 Panther Ausf. F - Platoon Leader '231'

I decided to do a different camo on the side skirts and paint the barrel to make it look like a replacement.

The camo could have been a lot better and doesn't really picture the 'real' version of it, but it was bloddy difficult in this scale :-p

The basing could have been a lot better, I'm not very good at that and have limited supplies laying around :-p but just though I would be to boring just painting them.

As you might have spotted Panther '232' and '233' was painted more generically, but they still look apart because Forged In Battle doesn't just deliver 3 completely generic tanks but all of them was different sculpts.

Well I think that was it. As usual comments and suggestions are more than welcome :-)

I really hope you like it, next up is the rest of my US airborne platoon and hopefully I will have some pictures of these up soon.

Michael Wittmann - Battlefront - GBX16

Hello everyone!

I recieved this set as a christmas present and I must say after having just finished 4 Plastic Soldier Company Tigers that zimmerit just makes everything more cool :-D

The PSC Tiger might be slightly more reaslistic scale wise, but this kit makes up for it with the zimmerit and the extra figures and car. The only negative thing I have to say about my kit, is that the tiger provided in the box isn't actually the one depicted in the picture...looks more like a generic battlefront tiger to me, but all the figures are the same. Also as far as I can tell no decals was provided in the kit, this might be normal for BF kits (haven't really done a lot of those) but luckily I have plenty laying around.

I'm not actully making Michael Wittman, since my army is currently of the 3. SS Panzerbattalion, so I'm just building it as a command Tiger.

 The model is very nicely detailed and very easy to assemble.

As usual a primed the model white, sprayed it yellow, then highlighted it slighty and applied the camouflage pattern. Sadly I had to do this twice, because the first time around I primed it with a Testors Gloss coat I wanted to try out, sadly this completely ruined the paint job, so I had to do it over.

After the camo was applied I gave it a good nice gloss finished and applied the decals I wanted. After this had dried I gave it a dark wash/pin wash and let it dry.

After the wash had dried up I gave it a hightlight using some oil colors, just mixed a light sandy color.

Hopefully I will be able to sit down a do a bit more on this model, maybe later this week.
