Stug III Platoon - Battlefront - Open Fire - Continued

Greetings!

So I've been getting a little work done on my Stug platoon, still quite a lot of work left to do, but hopefully I will be able to finish them the coming week.

So far they have been a lot of fun to paint and hopefully they will turn out ok. The chipping could have been better some places, but think I will try to redo some parts.

That's it for now.

V1 Rocket - Battlefront - Open Fire

'Allo 'Allo

So while I've been painting some of my other tanks I have been doing this as a 'Waiting for paint to dry' side project. Not much to say other than it's a really exellent model and that it's a nice addition to the Open Fire set, good objective marker I guess.

Still need a coat of varnish and maybe some dirt/sod who know.

Stug III Platoon - Battlefront - Open Fire

Greetings visitor!

So I just finished my first 3 Open Fire Shermans so now It's time to paint some more german tanks. These are the Stug III from the Battlefront Open Fire set and to be honest they are quite nice. The only real negative thing I have to say is the exhaust is pretty poorly represented, but that's a minor thing.

I've been throwing a bit of paint on these while waiting for paint to dry on my shermans so no early stage photos.

Well here's the current state of the Stugs

Stay tuned. Will probably try to get a few progress shots this time :)

Sherman Platoon (1) - Battlefront - Open Fire - Finished!

Greetings!

So I managed to get some sod on the barrels, a little dirt on the tracks and lower hull parts and at last a coat of matt varnish.

Officially done!
Hope you like it, next I'm painting the 3 Open Fire Stugs post about those will be coming soon.

As usual comments are more than welcome :)

Sherman Platoon (1) - Battlefront - Open Fire - Continued

Hello everyone!

So I've been trying to get some work done on my Open Fire Sherman (well 3 of them atleast, still many to go...). I painted these Shermans with little to no reference the only thing I figured out was that british tanks was a different shade of green compared to their american counterparts, and since I didn't have this color I had to improvise something.
Considering that I have never painted an allied FoW vehicle before and that the last allied vehicle I painted was 3 years ago, I think they turned out quite alright.
I'm currently repainting a few things because I wasn't happy with them, but I took the pictures before I decided to do this :-p also a few things that still need painting but will probably be done tomorrow.

I don't think any sherman ever got this "worn" or any vehicle during the war really, but I'm just practicing. The weathering could definitely have been better and hopefully the next batch of shermans will be even better.

But first it's Stug time.

Update - 19.05.2014

So I did some repainting today and now I think they basicly just need a coat of matt varnish

That's it for now, hope you like 'em any comment or criticism is more than welcome.

Jochen Peiper - Battlefront - GE896 - Continued

Hello everyone

So I've basicly spent most of my sparetime the last couple of days painting this panther, and it's pretty much finished, still need to make the aerial and possible correct some mistakes if I find any.
This was a pretty short build and I'm sorry I didn't really upload any progress shots, but I was in the zone you know. So I hope you can forgive and make do with the pictures of the finished tank.

For those of you who didn't see my first post or have forgotten what the panther looked like in that stage, here's a reminder.

And this is what it looks like now.

I don't really know how much time I spend on painting this vehicle, it didn't feel that long but it probably was :-p Anyways! I sincerly hope you like it and as usual comments are more than welcome.

I will probably start painting my shermans this weekend, if time allows it.

Until then! enjoy.

Sherman Platoon (1) - Battlefront - Open Fire

3 updates in 1 day?! this is madness!

So at the same time I bought my Jochen Peiper Panther I also bought the Open Fire set from Battlefront, because I had heard great things about it and also it could be fun to have a small allied army as well.

What can I say,  the box is amazing. I would recommend it to anyone thinking about starting up playing (or just painting) Flames of War since this set contains everything you need. The infantry in this set is probably the best Battlefront have ever done and even better, they are plastic! The vehicles are also quite nice (Plastic aswell) though the shermans didn't fit together all that great to be honest (Still possible to assemble don't worry!). I sincerly hope this is the new standard of upcoming Battlefront products (Especially the infantry, jesus they are gorgeous), but not to say I don't like the resin vehicles they are currently producing, hopefully they will continue to do that aswell.

But enough talk about the Open Fire set! Let me preset the second project I will be working on alongside my command Panther. One of the 3 Sherman platoons from the set. It's been a while since I painted an allied WW2 vechicle (can be seen here and here), so I'm also looking forward to this build and hopefully they will turn out decent :-p To be honest I don't really like painting allied tanks...so boring just green, but I'll make the sacrifice because the Open Fire set deserve it.

This is the current progress. I painting them while also painting my Panther (and probably paid the most attention to that). I did try my hand at some homemade sandbags for the Platoon leader and I think they turned out ok.

Thats it for now, I'll keep you updated as soon as I have more progress!

Jochen Peiper - Battlefront - GE896

Hello hello

As promised in my previous post (a few minutes ago), more updates was on their way.
This is actually one of my newest purchases and damn it's a beautiful sculpted panther from Battlefront.

Since Jochen Peiper isn't actually affiliated with my army of choice I'm probably just going to use the tank as a command Panther or something (When I don't feel like using my Tiger).

I just started painting it today and decided to try some new things instead of just doing it the same way as usual, so I'm quite excited to see how it turns out.

As you can probably see there is still quite a long way to go, but so far I'm fairly happy with how it looks.
Some things could be better of course, but next time I try the same techniques I'll hopefully do better.

I'll update as I progress!

HS 129 B3 - Battlefront - AC006

'Allo 'Allo

Its been a while since the last time i posted anything(I'm sorry!), but fear not ! I have a few things lines up on the conveyor belt, so hopefully there will be a decent flow of updates in the near future.

Starting with this thing of beauty from Battlefront, The Hs 129 Panzerknacker.

I purchased this set some time ago, but never really got around to actually painting it (I think my Leopard project is to blame for this), but now I figured it was time to finish it. I haven't painted a scale plane since I was a little lad and those was in scale 1/72 as I recall, so this was quite fun and interesting to paint and a nice breath of fresh air compared to all the tanks I've painted lately.

I'm sorry I don't have any pictures of the actual painting progress etc. and neither do I have any guide concerning what colors I used since most of them was just mixed from all sorts of other colors since I didn't actually have any Luftwaffe airplane colors (The "blue" color on the planes belly was mixed using Clear Blue from Tamiya for instance)

So without further ado let me present to you my latest addition to my Flames of War "army" (Lets be honest it's not really an army but more a large collection of different tanks)

Hope you liked it, there will be more updates coming up soon about my two current Flames of War projects.
